At first I didn’t give much credence to the benefits of acupuncture, but Worker’s Comp. sent me here in lieu of having further cortisone injections which I have been relying on for approximately the last eight years. You know what though, I really think there’s something to this Eastern way of healing. The pain I suffered was mostly gone by the end of the initial six sessions during November and December 2018. It has now been about 8 months since my last session, and my chronic pain has returned. I requested another six sessions which begin next week. We’ll see how it goes, but as it stands I am discovering that I get just as much relief – and for the same length of time – with acupuncture as I do with cortisone injections.

Having suffered from an automobile accident in 2010 and enduring the physical strains of being a mail carrier for the US Postal Service the last 32 years, I have developed moderate to severe osteo arthritis in my knees, lower back and shoulders. The pain at times was so overwhelming I slept in a reclining chair for months. Since coming to The Healing Arts Health Center my pain and quality of life is tremendously better. Shaheed is right on point with my pain management. He is professional and knowledgeable and always knows exactly how to calm my pain down. If you haven’t tried the cupping you should, I love having it right after my acupuncture treatment. I also want to say his staff is great, they are always pleasant, friendly and accommodating. Shaheed has helped eliminate the pain from my carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands, due to pregnancy and overuse of hands. My chiropractor referred me here after my neurologist said physical therapy, acupuncture, and massage would not help. I, too, was skeptical that needles in my legs would cure the pain in my hands. I started out with two visits in a week, then once a week, then once every two weeks. It is fascinating to see that he will put the needles on different spots–on my hands, legs, ears–to see which points are the most receptive. I feel better a LOT better –it doesn’t hurt to open a jar or turn the doorknob or use the mouse on my computer; and the treatment has lasted between visits!
He is very knowledgeable, easy going, answers my questions, friendly, professional, and just a nice guy. He is really likable and has a pleasant bedside manner. I recommend wearing pants that can roll up and comfortable clothing since you are resting for a good 45-60 minutes with the needles and drinking water afterwards. He even agreed to treat me for tightness in my traps at no extra charge! I am very pleased to have him provide me treatment.

Shaheed has performed not only acupuncture, but cupping and massage to help alleviate the chronic pain in my hip. I look forward to my weekly visits. Shaheed and his staff truly care about your well being. This is much better than pain medication that alters your being.

After years of pain and finally getting the Ok from Kaiser I sought out Shaheed. It took awhile to find him but I did. Anyway I am feeling great! I feel energized and able to move again. This is no joke! I have two herniated discs in my lower back and I compete in Endurance rides (25-35 miles) on my Arabian horse. I accredit the fact that I am able to compete on a regular basis to the acupuncture treatments that I first got from Dr. Dinesh, and now am receiving from Shaheed. Anytime my sciatica acts up, I can be assured that with the combination of cupping and acupuncture, I will be back in the saddle by the weekend!

As one drives up to the clinic there is ample door to door service parking. Upon entering the pristine facility one encounters the warm friendly smiles of Leslie, the helpful office manager. Also greeting you upon entrance is the fountain statue of a Buddha, often bubbling in ethereal tranquility. The comfortable waiting room is replete with valuable reading material, a prosperous plant, and drinking water (not that I have ever spent very much time there; service is pretty expedient). So far, in my mind, these were all immediate indications of being in the right place. The friendly office staff then escorts you to one of the many treatment rooms where you will be most comfortable. Perhaps you will enjoy treatment seated in a Lazboy chair, or laying upon a massage table. I personally often deliver my elaborate patient narrative from the Lazboy, and then migrate to the massage table for receiving acupuncture. Acupuncture in the Lazboy was a unique experience (definitely East meets West). After being escorted to my treatment room; where I organized my thoughts about how to best communicate that which I was experiencing; I was soon greeted by one of the most humble; genuine; respectful; unassuming; polite; educated; sincere; caring; professional; knowledgeable; compassionate; quality; down to earth; consummate professional health care practitioners walking the Earth- Shaheed Abdullah. This man's thorough understanding, comprehension, and implementation of Chinese medicine is un-matched in my search, findings, and previous experience. His bed side manner; listening skills; intelligence; wit; orientation toward results; passion for his profession; sincere interest in his patients; and providing the very best of care; is revealed every step of the way! Shaheed's art form of the "Rapid Recovery Method" has considerably mitigated my pain levels and the fluctuations thereof, with increasingly improved range and tolerance. He keeps me on my feet, and in the gym. I am now able to progress through my physical therapy exercises, and even augment with weight training again (Yeeeaaahh!!). My acupuncture treatments generally last between 45 and 60 minutes, this is not including my patient narrative, which is often especially loquacious. If you are ready to feel better, facilitate and expedite your body's natural healing process, and require the best care available. I encourage you to schedule an appointment at Healing Arts Health Center in San Diego : ) I wish I were a professional athlete or famous actor, so that this review may have more clout, but I am just a satisfied everyday UCSD student : ) !
